We are at a critical tipping point in the timeline of Post Imagination. After the sun went down for the last time, the world entered a state of "Long Evening"—a futuristic, dark landscape where light is a rare and precious memory.
Here is the current state of the story:
1. The Call to Arms
We are currently at the beginning of a Great War. This isn't just a skirmish; it is a full-scale mobilization. The "First Ones, "Clyde White and Cecil Davis, have officially come out of retirement. For a very long time, they were just observers, having already done their part by bringing light back to the world once before. But the threat has become too great to ignore.
2. The Catalyst: The Attack on Annabelle
The war was sparked by the shadowy Mr. Flabbergast, who launched a direct attack on Annabelle. Her mother, **Imagination**, shielded her from the blow but was severely injured in the process. With the embodiment of "Imagination" weakened and hurt, the foundation of the world is at risk.
3. The Reinforcements: The Twins
Because Clyde and Cecil haven't fought in such a long time, they realized they needed more power to take down the duo of Mr. Guy-in-Charge and Mr. Flabbergast. They have summoned The Twins to the front lines. This is a massive shift in power—bringing in new, heavy hitters to deal with the Factory's forces and the pursuit of the Dough Bird.
4. The Battlefield: A World of Its Own
The conflict is unfolding across a terrain that exists entirely separate from our history or geography. There is no Ohio or Michigan; there are only the ruins and technical structures of a future that survived the "unwrapping" of the world.
Where we stand right now: The First Ones are dusting off their old tools, the Twins have arrived, and the lines are drawn. It is the creators of light defending from the Factory.
Since the First Ones are "re-learning" how to fight after their long retirement, are they finding that their old methods of creating light still work against Mr. Flabbergast, or has his darkness evolved to resist them?
